Karaoke in Köln Part 1

You know when you put a lot of different things together that you don’t think would be good?

Submitted for your approval: Germans + Irish + Kölsch + Guinness + Karaoke = Crazy Delicious. And when I say Crazy Delicious, I mean more fun than one should have on one night. I know what you’re thinking. “You’re a dirty liar. You can’t have that much fun in one night!” And I retort, oh yes you can. So this is how it happened:

I am not really one for singing in public (anymore), so you will not see me at karaoke normally (even drunk). But a very good friend of mine from Boston lives here now. His name is Jessie and he one of the coolest people I know. We met in Boston and he has lived here in Germany for about eight years now. He is the kind of friend that even though I haven’t seen him in six or seven years, it was like not a day passed since I had seen him last. (Other than the fact that I didn’t recognize him when he got of the bus.)

OK, I got a little sidetracked. The short version is that Jessie runs an Irish pub in Mulheim, Germany and it has a sister pub in Köln and when they need a Karaoke host, they call Jessie. So that is how we ended up there.
So we had no intention of singing, but to sit and drink and watch some bad singing. Well the thing is, that everyone was pretty good and several Kölsches and Guinness’s later you are screaming your head off and cheering for the singers. Now I know you are all saying “Brandon, this story is shit without hearing any of this.” And so I oblige. Luckily, I had my MP3 player that can record. The sound is not the best, but you will get the idea. Note: most of the screaming is Grayson and me.

Jessie singing some song I don't know the title of.

Drunk German guy singing Suspicious Minds.

Jessie singing the Piano Man.

There is more to this night, but I will leave that for Grayson to write about.

Hint: We were so hung-over, that we had to buy our hotel room for another night so we could sleep more before getting the train back to Vallendar. Sorry Luckit.

Yeah, maybe you can have that much fun in one night, but I suspect you are still a dirty liar.
